One Lebanese scoop is sailing away in the Aegean Sea 🌊, while the other Azerbaijani scoop just returned from a music festival by the Ionian waters.
Filled with creative 🪩 inspiration and seafood linguine 🍝, I’m feeling effervescent from a week of non-stop dancing, swimming and smiling. Kala festival was exquisitely organised, the nature was stunning, the music was top-notch and the people were so friendly. There is a moment imprinted in my heart forever, and it is one I’d love to share with you.
Towards the end of one of my favourite sets, imagine Bob Marley’s ‘Is This Love?’ blasting out the sound system…Haseeb Iqbal, a London-based DJ takes the mic to name that at a time when the world is so utterly divided, it is so special to be connecting with a crowd of hundreds, united through music. We all felt it. There was something so special about that moment. Planted in the middle of the dancefloor, I paused and in slow-motion, took in a 360 view of the smiling faces surrounding me. Sunshine simply radiating from everyone’s eyes. It was so, so touching to be enveloped by such a high concentration of pure happiness. I feel deeply grateful for the privileges present in my life.
So, it is only right to pour some of that magic into this issue. Summertime means something different to each of us, whatever it represents for you, in whichever season of life you are in, we hope you take a moment to pause and take in whatever crumbs, slices, or loaves of magic present themselves to you.
“Rather than living every day as if it’s my last, I’ve shifted to a gentler approach of living every day as if it’s my first. I want to wake up and meet the day with the wonder of a newborn, to cultivate childlike qualities like curiousity and play.”
